Import CAASPP Accessibility Resources

The ISAAP Tool does not store student data or accessibility resources from one session to another. Therefore, it is important for the user to save the data to an external file before exiting the application when finished with a session. A user can save the data as the "ISAAP FOR TOOL" file to import the information in the future by selecting the [Ready to Save ISAAP Files] button on the Student List web page after student data has been imported or added manually.

To continue editing a list of ISAAP information from a previous session, import the previously saved file. Once a previous "ISAAP FOR TOOL" file is imported, select the [+Add Student] button to add or edit a student.

To import a new student list to start, download an empty "ISAAP FOR TOOL" file (Microsoft Excel file). Once downloaded, enter the Statewide Student Identifiers (SSIDs) and as much of the basic student data as possible, and then import that "ISAAP FOR TOOL" file into the application. Entries without SSIDs will not be imported. A user may also import student data from their student information system as long as the file format matches that of the "ISAAP FOR TOOL" file.

To import either a new student list or a previously saved student list, the user must have a file saved in the correct format ("ISAAP FOR TOOL" file format).

Take the following steps to import a saved file:

  1. Select the [Select File] button and then navigate to the location where the saved file is stored. By default, this location will be the device’s "Downloads" folder.
  2. Select the desired file and then select the [Import] button. The Student List web page will be populated with the data from the saved file.
  3. If there are multiple student data files, select the [Import More] button on the Student List web page. This will take the user back to the Import Accessibility Resources web page to import another file.

Note: Once a user has started working on either CAASPP or ELPAC files, they must continue with that testing program until they complete their updates and save whichever file(s) they need. A user cannot edit student lists and accessibility resources for CAASPP and ELPAC simultaneously.

If the import was unsuccessful, the user will receive an error message. Common errors are missing or duplicate SSIDs; entries in the Grade column that do not match the drop-down values; or errors with the "complete" indicator. Check the file, correct any issues, and try importing it again.
